NSUI Criticizes 4th Extension of PhD Entrance Application Deadline at RU

Ranchi: The National Student Union of India (NSUI) has raised strong objections to the repeated extension of the application deadline for the PhD entrance exam at Ranchi University. This marks the fourth consecutive extension, and the NSUI claims it is undermining the 2024-25 session.

Aman Ahmad, NSUI State Vice President, expressed his dissatisfaction, accusing the university administration of mishandling the PhD entrance process. He questioned whether the extensions were due to a lack of applicants or if they were being made for the benefit of specific individuals.

“The university is making a mockery of the PhD entrance session. It raises concerns about whether the date extensions are being influenced by certain student organizations or political figures,” Ahmad stated.

The NSUI also criticized the Vice Chancellor, urging him to clarify if such delays would occur for other university matters as well. The organization called the repeated extensions a “formality” and suggested that the Vice Chancellor was trying to appease people before his tenure ends, possibly in hopes of reappointment. They also raised concerns over several alleged irregularities during his tenure, which have been reported to the Chancellor Governor.

The NSUI demanded that Ranchi University release fixed dates for the PhD entrance exam and interviews, urging the administration to ensure students can complete their exams on time and begin their research work without further delays.
