Jamshedpur: The third lecture in the series of platinum jubilee celebrations at CSIR-National Metallurgical Laboratory (NML) was delivered by Prof. S.K. Kawatra, Chair and Professor at Michigan Technological University, USA, on March 25, 2025. Prof. Kawatra, who is also the Editor-in-Chief of the Mineral Processing & Extractive Metallurgy Reviews journal, is a well-respected figure in the field and has received numerous awards and honours for his contributions.
The event was part of the year-long platinum jubilee celebrations at CSIR-NML, which began in November 2024. The lecture was held at the NML Auditorium, with an audience comprising scientists, technical staff, students, and researchers from CSIR-NML. The event also saw participation from faculty members, young students, and various invitees.
In his engaging address, Prof. Kawatra shared innovative ideas and strategies related to iron ore processing, which captured the audience’s attention. His insightful lecture was met with enthusiastic applause from the audience on multiple occasions, reflecting their keen interest in his work.
Dr. V.C. Srivastava, Chief Scientist at CSIR-NML, concluded the session by delivering the vote of thanks. He expressed sincere gratitude to Prof. Kawatra for taking time out of his busy schedule to deliver the prestigious lecture.
