Bokaro: A two-day Capacity Building Programme on Competency-Based Assessment for the secondary level was held at Delhi Public School (DPS) Bokaro on April 12 and 13, 2025. The event featured Abhishek Kumar, Principal of GGPS Chas, and Sarita Jha, Senior Teacher at A.R.S Public School, as resource persons.
The programme began with a ceremonial lamp lighting and welcome address by DPS Bokaro Principal Dr. A.S. Gangwar. The sessions focused on the holistic development of students and the need for assessment models that support physical, mental, and emotional well-being.
Key topics included the design of competency-based assessments, types of questions, cognitive learning domains, and framing of MCQs—ranging from simple to assertion-reason types. Educators actively participated in hands-on activities involving Free Response and Constructed Response Questions.
Dr. Gangwar emphasized aligning assessments with the learning outcomes of the NEP 2020, highlighting the importance of diagnostic, formative, and skill-based evaluations to ensure a meaningful and effective education.
