New Delhi: United States Vice President J.D. Vance arrived in New Delhi today, marking the start of his first official visit to India. He was warmly received at the airport by Union Minister for Information and Broadcasting, Ashwini Vaishnaw.
Vice President Vance is accompanied by the Second Lady, Usha Vance, along with senior officials from the U.S. administration. During his four-day visit, he is scheduled to meet Prime Minister Narendra Modi this evening. His itinerary includes high-level engagements in the capital, followed by visits to Jaipur and Agra.
The visit aims to strengthen the strategic partnership between India and the United States. It offers an opportunity for both nations to assess the progress made since the Joint Statement released on February 13, during Prime Minister Modi’s recent visit to the U.S.
In addition to bilateral discussions, the leaders are expected to exchange views on key regional and global developments.
The India-U.S. relationship, grounded in shared democratic values and a broad convergence of interests, spans across multiple domains including trade, defense, technology, and people-to-people ties. Regular high-level dialogues continue to be a cornerstone of this evolving and robust partnership.
