Bokaro: A wave of pride and celebration swept through Chinmaya Vidyalaya and the city of Bokaro as alumnus Saurabh Rajendu secured the 199th rank (General Category) in the UPSC Civil Services Examination 2024.
A student of Chinmaya Vidyalaya since nursery, Saurabh completed his Class 12 in 2013 with 91.4% marks. He earned an impressive 969th rank in the IIT entrance exam in 2014 and pursued B.Tech in Computer Science from IIT BHU. After graduating in 2018, he worked at the global firm D.E. Shaw for two years before beginning his UPSC journey in 2021.
Known for his humility, discipline, and spiritual grounding, Saurabh has excelled not only in academics but also in sports like basketball, chess, and cricket. A consistent winner in Shrimad Bhagavad Gita recitation competitions, he credits the Gita and the values imparted by Chinmaya Vidyalaya for shaping his personality and guiding his path.
He expressed gratitude to his parents, teachers, and school environment for their unwavering support and inspiration. “A healthy mind, body, and a focused attitude are the keys to cracking UPSC,” he said.
School Principal Suraj Sharma and Vice-Principal Narmendra Kumar congratulated him and expressed hope that more students from the school will continue to achieve such milestones. Leaders from Chinmaya Mission Bokaro also extended their heartfelt wishes to Saurabh on his remarkable achievement.
