April 22, 2025 is not just a date of mourning for India, but also a moment of deep introspection. Once again, the land of Pahalgam has been struck by terrorism, but this time, the attack wasn’t just on Indian lives—it was an assault on our country’s social fabric, its tolerance, and its shared cultural heritage. This attack, where innocent tourists were targeted after being identified by their religion, is not just an inhuman act—it reflects a mindset and motive that are even more dangerous.
A question arises—why were only people of a particular religion targeted? Was it a mere coincidence, or a well-planned conspiracy? This incident clearly shows that terrorism is no longer confined to geographical borders or political motives. It has now taken an active role in trying to divide society on religious lines. When a terrorist identifies a tourist based on their religion, the attack is not just on an individual—it is on an ideology and an entire culture.
This attack has come from forces that fear India’s unity, that wish to shatter the spirit of “unity in diversity” that defines our nation. It bothers them that people of different religions in India live together, pray together, and celebrate festivals together. For them, spreading violence in the name of religion is merely a tactic—a strategy to weaken India from within, to pit Indians against each other.
At this time, it is not just the responsibility of the government and security agencies, but also of every section of society—especially the citizens belonging to that particular religion—to come forward and condemn such acts. A clear message must be sent: terrorism has no religion, and no community represents the ideology of terrorists.
This incident is not just a reason for tears—it is a warning. A warning against the ideological poison being spread under the guise of religion. We must remain alert, stay united, and pledge that the soul of India—its tolerance, diversity, and unity—will never be tarnished. My deep condolence is with those who lost their lives in this terrist attack.
