ATS Raids Wasseypur, Dhanbad Over Pahalgam Attack, Three Detained

Dhanbad: In a significant development tied to the April 22 Pahalgam terror attack, an Anti-Terrorism Squad (ATS) team conducted targeted raids in Wasseypur, Dhanbad in Jharkhand early Saturday morning, detaining three individuals for questioning.

Sources confirmed that two men—identified as Yusuf and Kausar—were picked up from Wasseypur, while a woman named Shabnam, wife of a suspect named Ayan from Shamsher Nagar, Govindpur, was also taken into custody. Ayan is under suspicion for alleged tampering with Aadhaar card data, potentially aiding terrorist elements.

The ATS launched operations near Noori Masjid and later moved to Aman Society in Gaffar Colony, situated along the Wasseypur Bypass Road, where searches and inquiries are still underway.

Parallel operations were also reported in Dhanbad’s Bank More and Bhuli police station areas. Deputy Superintendent of Police (Law and Order) Naushad Alam has been deployed at Bhuli OP to oversee the unfolding situation.

This intensified crackdown follows the gruesome terrorist assault in Jammu and Kashmir’s Pahalgam, where 26 Hindu tourists were targeted and killed. The attack has prompted security agencies to launch nationwide operations aimed at dismantling any support networks and tracking suspects across the country.

The ATS presence in Wasseypur is part of a larger, coordinated effort to ensure that those connected to the attack are identified, interrogated, and brought to justice.
