RNS: Aimed to empower underprivileged women, a Memorandum of Agreement (MoA) was formalized between the ACIC IIT ISM Foundation and Steel Authority of India Limited (SAIL), Bokaro Steel Plant (BSL).
Under this collaborative initiative, ACIC IIT ISM Foundation becomes the official partner of BSL, entrusted with the vital role of overseeing its corporate social responsibility (CSR) endeavours.
The MoA, was formalized by Professor Saumya Singh, Director of ACIC, on behalf of IIT ISM Dhanbad, and Chaudhary Ratnesh Kumar Sudhanshu, the Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) Head of SAIL Bokaro.
The signing ceremony was attended by Rajan Prasad, Executive Director of SAIL Bokaro, Manish Jalota, CGM HRD, Kundan Kumar, CGM TA, and a team from ACIC IIT ISM Foundation, led by Professor Saumya Singh. The collective commitment towards this initiative was emphasized by all participants.
Under the terms of the MoA, the dedicated team at ACIC will undertake the responsibility of providing training to underprivileged women residing in the vicinity of SAIL’s BSL.
The training program, set to commence in the first week of December 2023, will initially focus on skills related to the handloom sector, including Jute, Bamboo, and Lac crafts, as highlighted by Professor Saumya Singh. The objective is to empower and enhance the capabilities of 60 women in the initial phase.
This MoA not only signifies the beginning of a fruitful partnership but also lays the foundation for anticipated support and a shared vision of growth. Through this collaboration, both entities aspire to embark on a journey of mutual learning and progress, leveraging their respective strengths and expertise to create a lasting impact on the lives of underprivileged women in the region.
This collaboration between the ACIC IIT ISM Foundation and SAIL Bokaro reflects their commitment to the welfare and empowerment of the local community, particularly women, and sets a promising precedent for future endeavours in the realm of corporate social responsibility.
