J&K: Jammu and Kashmir have been rocked by three terror attacks within a span of 48 hours, targeting the regions of Reasi, Kathua, and Doda.
On Tuesday, the provinces of Doda and Kathua were hit by two separate terror incidents. A CRPF jawan lost his life, and six security personnel sustained injuries due to these attacks.
A fierce gunfight erupted in Doda late Tuesday night after militants opened fire at a joint checkpost of the Rashtriya Rifles and police on the Bhaderwah-Pathankot road. The Kashmir Tigers, affiliated with the militant organization Jaish-e-Mohammed, have claimed responsibility for this assault.
In another incident, security forces neutralized one terrorist, and a civilian was injured during an operation in Hiranagar tehsil of Kathua district.
Officials reported that two to three suspected terrorists were spotted in Saida Sohal village in Hiranagar area. The suspects fired a few rounds before fleeing into the forest. Security forces quickly responded and launched an operation.
Union Minister Jitendra Singh shared updates on social media platform X, stating: “I am in continuous online contact with DC #Kathua Sh Rakesh Minhas in the wake of a terrorist attack on a house in village Saida in Hiranagar sector close to the International Border. I am also in touch with SSP Kathua Sh Anayat Ali Choudhary, who is on the spot. The owner of the house that was attacked is also in touch on mobile phone. Joint police & para military operation is going on. One terrorist neutralized so far. I and my office are in constant touch and keeping a close watch on the developments.”
Meanwhile, in Reasi, nine terrorists attacked a bus carrying pilgrims, causing the vehicle to plunge into a gorge. The tragic incident resulted in the death of at least ten pilgrims and injuries to 33 others.
Congress MP-elect Rahul Gandhi has criticized Prime Minister Narendra Modi over the recent surge in terror attacks in Jammu and Kashmir. He posted on X, “Narendra Modi is busy responding to congratulatory messages and cannot even hear the cries of the families of the devotees who were brutally killed in Jammu and Kashmir.”
The operations in these regions are ongoing as security forces continue to address the threats posed by these militant activities.
