Gaya: District Magistrate Dr. Tyagarajan SM and City Superintendent of Police Prerna Kumar jointly chaired a review meeting with zonal officers, police station heads, and district-level officers to discuss key issues related to liquor prohibition, law and order, mining, land disputes, and crime control.
Dr. Tyagarajan emphasized the importance of managing land disputes and maintaining law and order, as instructed by the state government. He directed all zonal officers and police station heads to hold review sessions for land disputes every Saturday at the police station level and prioritize resolving these issues.
The DM also highlighted that many land dispute cases received at the district-level Janta Darbar are forwarded to zonal officers, who should address them promptly. Additionally, Block Development Officers (BDOs) and Circle Officers (COs) were instructed to hold public darbars every Wednesday, with sub-divisional officers doing the same on Thursdays.
For the mining department, Dr. Tyagarajan instructed COs and SHOs to conduct joint raids at least twice a week, with sub-divisional officers and police officers also conducting raids twice a week to curb illegal mining and transportation. He stressed the need for monthly law and order meetings within each subdivision.
Prerna Kumar reinforced the need for continuous raids at the police station and deputy superintendent levels to combat illegal mining. She also emphasized identifying and raiding major hotspots, particularly in Dobhi, GT Road, and border areas.
The meeting saw participation from additional district officials, all sub-divisional officers, sub-divisional police officers, circle officers, and police station in-charges.
