Bokaro: The Mithila Mahila Samiti, a unit of the Mithila Sanskritik Parishad, hosted a vibrant Sawan Mahotsav at Jaika Happening in Sector One on Tuesday evening. The event, led by Mithila Mahila Samiti President Seema Jha, featured a lively mix of music, dance, and various competitions, drawing enthusiastic participation from attendees.
The festivities were inaugurated by chief guest Anita Tiwari, President of the Mahila Samiti, Bokaro, who lit the ceremonial lamp and extended her greetings. She emphasized the cultural significance of the Sawan month, particularly for the Mithila community, and highlighted the seasonal beauty of lush greenery.
In the Siya Sundari competition, Chanda Jha took first place, Renuka Jha secured second, and Jayanti Pathak came third. In the senior category, Sushila Yadav was awarded first place, followed by Abha Jha in second and Leela Jha in third. Vandana Jha was honored with the Wonder Women award.
Other notable winners included Prerna Ojha for the Daala Sajao competition and Vinita Rai as the runner-up. Ranjana Bhagat and Namita Jha received the best song singing award, Amita Jha won best saree, Shalini Jha earned best face painting, and Kanchan Sinha was recognized for best makeup. Kanchan Jha was awarded for best smile, while Sheela Mishra was acknowledged as the oldest member. Madhubala Jha received the best ramp walk award, Kiran Jha for best costume, Dr. Manju Jha as best professional, Kamala Jha for best stage management, Babita Jha for best mehndi, and Ruchi Prerna as best artist. Additional awards went to Poonam Jha, Asha Pathak, and Padma Chaudhary in various categories.
The jury for the competitions included Kumud Kumari, Kiran Mishra, Sangeeta Jha, and Deepti Jha. President Seema Jha highlighted that the Mithila Mahila Samiti regularly organizes cultural events and social upliftment programs. The event was hosted by Kamla Jha, with notable attendees including Amita Jha, Poonam Mishra, and Beena Jha.
