Bokaro: DPS Bokaro students captivated the audience with a stunning display of rhythm and melody during the Inter-House Group Tabla and Solo Song competitions at cultural extravaganza ‘Tarang’ on Thursday.
The event showcased a blend of traditional and contemporary musical elements, highlighting the school’s commitment to preserving cultural heritage.
In the Group Tabla competition, students delivered a riveting performance of Teen Taal, weaving intricate rhythms that left the audience spellbound. Jamuna House took top honors, securing first place, while Chenab House came in second and Ganga House claimed third.
The Solo Song competition featured a rich array of vocal styles, celebrating India’s musical traditions of devotion and spirituality. Gursobh Singh Bindra of Ganga House and Gun Pathak of Sutlej House shared the top spot, with Angel Bajaj of Jhelum House and Shree Nidhi Pushkar of Raavi House tying for second. Utkarsh Aditya of Jamuna House and Achint Kaur of Chenab House jointly earned third place.
Principal Dr. A. S. Gangwar praised the students for their outstanding performances, emphasizing that the competition was a tribute to India’s cultural legacy and a testament to the school’s dedication to nurturing traditional arts.
The event also featured a welcome address by Head Boy Kanhaiya Bharadwaj and a vote of thanks from Literary Secretary Prasoon Pankaj. The show was compered by Nayasha Singh Nagi, Mridul Aman, and Awani Ananya Pandey.
