Bokaro: The two-day 2nd Bokaro District Yogasana Sport Championship, hosted by DPS Bokaro in collaboration with the Bokaro District Yogasana Sport Association (BDYSA), wrapped up today with high spirits and celebration at DPS Bokaro.
The closing ceremony was honored by Chief Guest Asha Kiran Barla, the Gold Medalist from the Youth Asian Athletics Championship 2022, and Guest of Honour Bipin Kumar Pandey, Secretary of the Yogasana Sport Association of Jharkhand.
Approximately 250 students from various district schools participated in the championship, showcasing their dedication, hard work, and sportsmanship. The event recognized and celebrated the exceptional talents of young yogis. DPS Bokaro emerged as the overall champion for the second consecutive year, while GGPS, Chas secured the first runners-up position and ARS Public School took the second runners-up spot. Winners received certificates, medals, and trophies for their achievements.
In her address, Chief Guest Asha Kiran Barla commended the participants and highlighted yoga’s recognition on national and international platforms. She urged young students to practice yoga from an early age to enhance their physical and mental fitness. Guest of Honour Bipin Kumar Pandey encouraged students to consider yoga as a potential career path alongside sports.
Dr. A. S. Gangwar, Principal of DPS Bokaro and President of BDYSA, emphasized that the championship serves as an inspiration for aspiring athletes to integrate yoga into their lives for holistic well-being. The successful completion of the event underscores the growing popularity of yoga in the region.
