Lucknow: The country will celebrate Independence Day on August 15, but before that, it is reminded of the pain of partition. This pain is felt by everyone, from the common man to the prominent classes. In this context, Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath, at an event in Lucknow on Partition Horror Remembrance Day, said that the country was driven into the tragedy of partition for political self-interest. Congress, driven by the lure of power, inflicted a festering wound on India that continues to torment us today in the form of terrorism. He also stated that what happened in 1947 is still happening in Bangladesh and Pakistan. There is violence against women and daughters. But due to political self-interest, some in India remain silent on these issues.
The Chief Minister said that what happened in 1947 is still happening in Pakistan and Bangladesh. At that time, 1 million Hindus and Sikhs were killed together. Even today, the same kind of arson, looting, and violence against women and daughters is occurring. The same kind of tragedy is still visible today. 15 million Hindus are still struggling to protect their existence in Bangladesh. Targeting the opposition, the Chief Minister said that secular people in India today are silent because they fear that speaking up for the weak will affect their vote bank. They are concerned about their vote bank, but their human sensitivity has died. Yogi mentioned that our resolve is that as Arvind of Varanasi declared before 1947, Pakistan has no real existence in the spiritual world; it will either merge with India or be eradicated forever.
CM Yogi also posted on social media, stating that this was not just the division of a country but the division of humanity. This inhumane decision led countless innocent citizens to lose their lives, endure displacement, and suffer atrocities. On this Partition Horror Remembrance Day, we pay humble tribute to all the innocent citizens who sacrificed their lives in this inhumane tragedy.
