Amit Shah Launches ‘Parivartan Yatra’ in Jharkhand, Pledges Health Insurance for Seniors

Ranchi: Union Home Minister Amit Shah today inaugurated the BJP’s poll campaign, ‘Parivartan Yatra,’ from Sahibganj in Santhal Pargana, ahead of the upcoming assembly elections in Jharkhand. During the event, he promised health insurance coverage of ₹10 lakh for senior citizens aged 75 and above, along with commitments to improve infrastructure, including roads and hospitals in the region.

Shah outlined key campaign issues, highlighting infiltration by Bangladeshis, unemployment, corruption, and unfulfilled promises by Chief Minister Hemant Soren. He criticized the Soren government for failing to deliver on electoral pledges, such as providing 5 lakh jobs annually and financial support for widows and newlywed girls. The crowd responded negatively when he asked if they had received these benefits.

He also addressed ongoing corruption scandals in Jharkhand, citing a ₹1,000 crore MNREGA scam, a ₹600 crore land scam, a ₹1,000 crore mining scam, and a ₹40 crore liquor scam, underscoring the government’s failure to manage resources effectively.

Shah accused the ruling JMM-Congress coalition of exploiting Bangladeshi and Rohingya infiltrators for electoral gain, stating that the BJP would take action against them. He claimed these infiltrators have harmed local communities and usurped land, promising that a BJP government would rectify these injustices.

With the ‘Parivartan Yatra,’ Shah aims to regain BJP’s influence in Jharkhand by addressing pressing local issues and rallying public support.
