Jamaican PM Andrew Holness to Embark on Historic Visit to India

New Delhi: Jamaican Prime Minister Dr. Andrew Holness is set to arrive in India tomorrow for five days official visit. This marks both his first visit to India and the first-ever bilateral visit by a Jamaican Prime Minister to the country.

Previously, Prime Minister Holness and Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi have met on the sidelines of various multilateral meetings.

During his visit, PM Holness will hold delegation-level discussions with Prime Minister Modi and will also meet with President Droupadi Murmu and Vice President Jagdeep Dhankhar.

The visit will present an opportunity for him to engage with other Indian dignitaries, as well as trade and industry leaders. Several Memorandums of Understanding (MoUs) are expected to be signed, aimed at boosting bilateral cooperation.

India and Jamaica share deep historical and cultural ties, rooted in a shared colonial past, democratic values, and a mutual love for cricket.

This visit is anticipated to further strengthen bilateral relations, enhance economic cooperation, and reinforce the longstanding bonds between the two nations.
