DPS Chas Hosts Capacity Building Program to Enhance Educator Competencies

Bokaro/Chas: Delhi Public School (DPS) Chas recently hosted a Capacity Building Program in collaboration with the Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE), aimed at enhancing the professional skills of educators. The initiative provided teachers with innovative tools and techniques to foster impactful learning environments.

The event began with a traditional Indian welcome, where attendees, including prominent educators, were honored with ceremonial Tilak and sapling presentations to promote environmental awareness.

The day commenced with an auspicious lamp lighting ceremony, accompanied by the chanting of sacred shlokas, setting a positive and spiritual atmosphere. Deepali Bhuskute, Officiating Principal of DPS Chas, and Suraj Sharma, Principal of Chinmaya Vidyalaya, Bokaro, served as the resource persons for the sessions.

The program introduced various modern strategies to improve pedagogical skills, focusing on active learning techniques that encourage greater student participation in the classroom.

A key highlight was the introduction of the ALAP (Active Learning and Participation) model, which emphasized student-centered approaches, empowering learners to take charge of their educational experiences.

Sessions also covered essential 21st-century skills for educators, including critical thinking, collaboration, and adaptability, enabling them to better engage with the new generation of students. Additionally, skill mapping was discussed, helping educators align their teaching methods with students’ unique abilities and strengths. The integration of Physical Active Learning (PAL) into the curriculum was another significant focus, promoting both mental and physical development.

Participants expressed their enthusiasm for the insights gained during the training, which concluded with tokens of gratitude presented to the resource persons and key organizers. The event was capped off with a vote of thanks, acknowledging the efforts of all involved in its success, followed by the National Anthem, reinforcing the school’s commitment to educational and national values.

Dr. Hemlata S. Mohan, Chief Mentor of the school, emphasized the importance of evolving teaching methods to adapt to new challenges. She highlighted how such training programs empower educators to meet modern educational demands.

The Capacity Building Program at DPS Chas marked another milestone in the school’s ongoing journey to empower educators and nurture future generations with cutting-edge educational practices.
