Bokaro: In honor of Mahatma Gandhi’s birth anniversary and the 10th anniversary of the Swachh Bharat Mission, Delhi Public School (DPS) Bokaro organized a series of engaging programs on Tuesday as part of the ‘Swachhata Hi Seva’ campaign.
Students enthusiastically participated in a cleanliness drive, taking up brooms to clean their classrooms, the school premises, and surrounding areas. Both the Primary and Senior Wings were actively involved, with young children donning gloves, masks, and aprons as they cleaned every corner of the school. To show appreciation for the hygiene staff’s efforts, students presented bouquets to express their gratitude for maintaining cleanliness on campus.
Holding colorful paintings and placards with cleanliness slogans, the students formed a human chain to spread awareness about the importance of cleanliness. A special assembly featured a street play aimed at inspiring attendees to pledge their commitment to cleanliness. Following this, students participated in the initiative ‘A Tree for Mother,’ planting saplings and vowing to nurture them, while also taking the Swachhata Oath.
Earlier in the campaign, themed ‘Cleanliness in Habit, Cleanliness in Conduct,’ various events were held, including morning rallies, skits, slogan writing, debates, painting, classroom cleaning, and placard making.
Principal Dr. A.S. Gangwar encouraged students by emphasizing that a clean and healthy mind thrives in a clean body. He underscored the importance of making cleanliness an integral part of daily life, stating that by embracing cleanliness, we can contribute to building a healthier and empowered society, state, and nation.
