Bokaro: The five-day cultural week, Darpan, organized at Mithila Academy Public School, Sector 4E, concluded with captivating performances by students. Children from the school’s four houses—Bharti, Vachaspati, Vidyapati, and Virsa—participated enthusiastically in various competitions showcasing their talents across five art forms.
The event began with a role-playing competition, where Birsa House clinched the first place, followed by Vidyapati House in second, Bharti House in third, and Vachaspati House receiving a consolation prize. On the second day, a comedy kavi sammelan was held, with Birsa House securing the top spot, Vachaspati House in second, Bharti House in third, and Vidyapati House receiving a consolation prize.
A skit competition on the third day, based on Ramayana and Mahabharata, highlighted unity, patience, and restraint. Birsa House again took the first place, followed by Vachaspati House, Vidyapati House, and Bharti House. On the fourth day, a Qawwali competition was held, with Vidyapati House winning first place, Vachaspati House in second, Birsa House in third, and Bharti House receiving a consolation prize.
The cultural week culminated in a vibrant dance competition on the final day, themed around festivals. Students performed dances representing Holi, Durga Puja, Onam, and Baman Avatar, captivating the audience. Birsa House emerged victorious, with Vidyapati House in second, Vachaspati House in third, and Bharti House receiving a consolation prize.
The closing ceremony was graced by City DSP Alok Ranjan, Odissi dancer Mahashweta Boria, Rajesh Raj from Dizzling Dance Academy, former Mithila Cultural Council Vice President Rajendra Kumar, school secretary Pramod Kumar Jha Chandan, and Principal Ashok Kumar Pathak.
The event was coordinated by Activity Incharge Ragini Jha, along with the wardens and teachers of the four houses. The distinguished guests praised the children’s performances and emphasized the importance of such programs in connecting students with their cultural roots. Teachers SK Rai and Sunil Mohan Thakur also attended the event.
