NUSRL Ranchi Joins Forces with Vidhi Centre for Legal Policy to Launch ‘Kautilya Society’

Ranchi: The National University of Study and Research in Law (NUSRL), Ranchi, has signed a significant agreement with the Vidhi Centre for Legal Policy to establish the ‘Kautilya Society,’ a new initiative focused on advancing legal research and public policy. The Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) was signed virtually by NUSRL Vice-Chancellor Prof. (Dr.) Ashok R. Patil and Arghya Sengupta, Founder and Research Director of the Vidhi Centre.

In his address, Vice-Chancellor Prof. Patil emphasized how this collaboration will enhance research opportunities for NUSRL students and improve their academic skills. He commended the Vidhi Centre for its impactful work with both state and central governments in driving legal reforms and shaping public policy.

The Vidhi Centre for Legal Policy, founded in 2013, is an independent think tank that focuses on critical legal reforms. It works with government bodies and public institutions to address pressing legal and policy issues, while also fostering legal research among law students.

Assistant Professor Dr. Utkarsh Verma, Assistant Professor Soni Bhola, and several students attended the virtual signing ceremony. The ‘Kautilya Society’ is set to become a hub for legal research, policy analysis, and legal advocacy, offering NUSRL students opportunities to engage in impactful work that will benefit both the legal community and society as a whole.
