EAM Jaishankar Leads Trilateral Talks with Australia, France; Engages EU, Angola, Ireland at G20

New Delhi: External Affairs Minister Dr. S. Jaishankar met with Australian Foreign Minister Penny Wong and French Foreign Minister Jean-Noël Barrot in Johannesburg for the India-Australia-France trilateral meeting. In a social media post, Dr. Jaishankar highlighted the shared interests of the three countries in the Indo-Pacific region and emphasized the potential to strengthen their positions through collaboration. He expressed appreciation for the ideas discussed during the trilateral meeting and looked forward to implementing them in practical ways.

On the sidelines of the G20 Foreign Ministers Meeting, Dr. Jaishankar also met with EU High Representative for Foreign Affairs and Security Policy, Kaja Kallas. Their discussions centered around strengthening India-EU relations, developments in Europe, the ongoing Ukraine conflict, and other global matters. Dr. Jaishankar expressed anticipation for the upcoming visit of the EU Commission and the EU College to India.

In addition, Dr. Jaishankar met with the Foreign Minister of Angola, Ambassador Tete Antonio, where they focused on enhancing bilateral cooperation and strengthening India-Africa ties. The Minister also briefly conversed with Ireland’s Foreign Minister Simon Harris during the event.
