Prayagraj: The Maha Kumbh concluded as a historic and grand event, attracting millions of devotees. Over 66 crore pilgrims took part in the 45-day religious gathering, bathing at the Sangam, setting a unique record. Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath and his cabinet members actively participated in the cleanliness drive, sweeping the Arail Ghat and offering prayers to the Ganga.
In a blog post marking the event’s conclusion, Prime Minister Narendra Modi titled it ‘Mahakumbh of Unity – Ahaat of Yug Parivartan.’ He described the gathering as a “Maha Yagya of Unity” and emphasized that when a nation awakens to new consciousness and sheds centuries of subjugation, such an event unfolds. PM Modi also offered an apology to Maa Ganga, Yamuna, and Saraswati for any shortcomings in worship or service during the event.
PM Modi praised CM Yogi Adityanath for his leadership, stating that the success of the Maha Kumbh was a collective effort between the government, administration, and the public, where everyone served with devotion.
CM Yogi acknowledged the safety and cleanliness efforts during the event, commending sanitation workers for their role. He also lauded the residents of Prayagraj for their warm hospitality in accommodating the large number of devotees.
The Uttar Pradesh government achieved a Guinness World Record in cleanliness during the Maha Kumbh, marking another milestone in the event’s success. The gathering not only symbolized religious faith but also demonstrated social unity and collective cooperation.
