Bokaro: The seven-day Shrimad Bhagwat Katha, coinciding with the Holi festival, commenced on Tuesday at the Shyam Mai temple in Bokaro.
The event, organized by the Maithili Kala Manch Kali Puja Trust, was inaugurated with a grand Kalashyatra. This spiritual festival, which blends devotion with the colors of Holi, will continue for seven days, from March 4 to March 10, culminating in the Purnahuti on March 11.
The Kalashyatra began with devotees gathering at Shiv Mandir in Sector-2, where they collected water and performed a procession, visiting several temples before arriving at the Shyam Mai Temple. The event saw a large turnout, including prominent figures like Govind Mishra, Manju Mishra, Shyamanand Mishra, and Maithili Kala Manch President Krishna Chandra Jha, among others.
This year marks the fifth consecutive edition of the event, with Bhagwat Bhaskar Shri Krishna Chandra Shastri’s disciple, Govind Krishna Shastri, narrating the Bhagwat Katha from 3 PM to 7 PM daily. Sunil Mohan Thakur, General Secretary of the Maithili Kala Manch Kali Puja Trust, urged residents to join the event and immerse themselves in the spiritual experience with their families.
