New Delhi: In a significant step towards deepening economic cooperation, Prime Minister Narendra Modi met with a 17-member Japanese business delegation in New Delhi, expressing enthusiasm about their expansion plans in India and their commitment to the “Make in India, Make for the World” initiative.

The delegation, led by Tatsuo Yasunaga, Chairman of the Japan-India Business Cooperation Committee, included senior leaders from major Japanese corporate sectors such as manufacturing, banking, airlines, pharmaceuticals, plant engineering, and logistics.

During the meeting, Yasunaga briefed Prime Minister Modi about the upcoming 48th Joint Meeting of the Japan-India Business Cooperation Committee, set to take place in New Delhi on March 6, 2025. The discussions centered on several key areas, including the potential for high-quality, low-cost manufacturing in India, expanding production for global markets with a particular focus on Africa, and boosting human resource development and exchanges between the two nations.

Prime Minister Modi welcomed the expansion plans of Japanese companies in India, emphasizing their dedication to the “Make in India, Make for the World” vision. He also highlighted the importance of skill development in enhancing bilateral relations between India and Japan, recognizing it as a crucial pillar for future collaboration.

This meeting underscores the growing strategic and economic partnership between the two nations, with Japan continuing to play a vital role in India’s economic development.
