BJP Leader Kumar Amit Meets BSL Director to Address Public Issues in Bokaro

Bokaro: BJP leader Kumar Amit met the in-charge director of Bokaro Steel Plant (BSL), BK Tiwari, on Monday to discuss pressing public issues in the city. During the meeting, Amit handed over a fifteen-point demand letter addressing several concerns affecting the local community.

The demands included the establishment of an ESI hospital for contract labourers, halting retrenchment of workers on medical grounds, setting up a statue of martyr Mangal Pandey, clearing outstanding salaries for SAIL employees, and providing vacant SAIL buildings to reputed private institutions for sectors like education, healthcare, IT, and skill development.

Additionally, the letter urged the development of BGH as a superspecialty hospital, the introduction of a Pradhan Mantri Jan Aushadhi Kendra at the hospital, and the reservation of fourth-class posts in SAIL for displaced and local residents. Amit also emphasized providing affordable utilities to Dundabaag slum residents and addressing slum rehabilitation with a focus on making the city encroachment-free.

Other key demands included organizing a job fair for local youth, prioritizing Jharkhand candidates for SAIL’s apprenticeship program, and reopening closed health centers under a licensing scheme to reduce the burden on BGS. Amit also requested the reinstatement of a sports quota in recruitment.

The Director-in-Charge assured Amit that positive initiatives would be taken on these issues. Karan Gorai, Lalbabu, Rajiv Singh, Chandraprakash, and Shailesh Kumar were also present during the meeting.
