Bokaro: The monthly meeting of literary organization Sahityalok was held on Sunday evening at the residence of senior litterateur Vijay Shankar Mallick ‘Sudhapati’ in Sector 8, Bokaro. The meet was chaired by theatre artist Shambhu Jha and conducted by Sahityalok convenor Aman Kumar Jha.
The session began on a spiritual note with poet and singer Arun Pathak presenting a melodious rendition of his composition “Hey Maa Saraswati Buddhi Vidya Dayini, Hum Par Kripa Barsao Maa…” invoking the goddess of wisdom.
A host of poets and writers presented their works in Hindi and Maithili. Neelam Jha recited the Maithili poem “Ee Dhara Ker Shaan Mithila Thik Hamar Pehchan Mithila” along with Hindi pieces “Khud Ko Dekho” and “Vaqt Kuch Ther”. Convenor Aman Kumar Jha presented the Maithili poems “Iss” and “Purkhaak Dharohar” following his story “Mol-Bhao”.
Shailja Jha captivated the audience with her Maithili poems “Shri Ganesh”, “Parivar Debab”, and a Hindi piece titled “”Shesh hi avshesh hai.” Writer Vijay Shankar Mallik shared the Maithili story “Soman Kumar CO” and Hindi poems “Mano Ya Na Mano” and “Hey Nath.”
Noted Maithili scholar and author of Om Mahabharata, Buddhi Nath Jha, earned high praise for his impactful poems “Hum Tap Sabhata Ghonti Rahalhun” and “Bhal Bhel”, centered on the abrogation of Article 370 in Kashmir.
In his presidential address, Shambhu Jha commended Sahityalok’s continuous contribution to preserving and enriching the literary culture of Bokaro. He emphasized the organization’s commendable tradition of providing constructive feedback to writers and creating a nurturing environment for budding talents.
The evening was marked by vibrant literary exchange and deep appreciation for regional languages and expressions.
