RNS: Bringing laurels to her alma mater as well as state, Bokaro girl Khushi Bharati won the gold medal in the state level painting competition organised by Power Ministry of Union Government.
Khushi is Class VIII DPS Bokaro, won the medal in the senior group; competition was held at Ranchi and thus she qualifies for national level painting competition scheduled to be held at New Delhi in December this year, informed Mritunjay Sharma PRO, DPS Bokaro.
In the outlook of sensitizing school children towards energy efficiency along with energy conservation in domestic sector, the topic for the State Level Painting Competition was ‘Save Energy’ which was organised by the Bureau of Energy Efficiency, Ministry of Power, Government of India in which more than five dozen students of several schools of all districts of the state participated, said Sharma.
The competition was held in two groups. Junior Group A (class I to VI) whose topic Energy is ‘Life— Conserve It’ while the topic for senior Group B (class VII to IX) ‘Save Energy for others’, he said.
Four students of DPS, Piyush and Tanya Shree (class V) participated in the junior group while Khushi and Tanushree participated in group B. Khushi has been given a certificate and a winner cheque of twenty thousand Rupees for being the winner in her group. While Tanushree, another student of DPS of Class VIII got the consolation Prize in the group and received a cheque of five thousand Rupees besides.
Dr. Hemlata S Mohan the Director and Principal of the school congratulated Khushi for being the state winner.
