RNS I Bokaro: Remembering the great contributions of Indian freedom fighters, DPS Chas organized a special assembly under the initiative Azadi ka Amrit Mahotsav launched by the Government of India to celebrate and commemorate 75th year of independence of progressive India and the glorious history of its people, culture and achievements.
The event proceeded with a prayer by Akansha of Class IX, thought for the day highlighting the courage of Chandra Sekhar Azad by Kumar Ayush of Class IX, news updates by Anshu Singh of Class IX, Patriotic poem by Shreya Prakash of Class XI and Speech by Hemant Kumar- Head Boy, the presentation being the famous speech “Swaraj is my birthright…” of Lokmanya Bal Gangadhar Tilak.
The patriotic song ‘Vande Matram’ and ‘Saare Jaha se Accha Hindustan Hamara’ set the tone for the assembly as the students recalled the important moments of freedom struggle of India. In their speeches the students beautifully articulated the valour and spirit of the freedom fighters who fought for the independence of our nation. The function concluded by the singing of the School Song followed by the National Anthem creating an ambience of devotion towards our motherland.
In her message, the Chief Mentor of the school, Dr. Hemlata S Mohan said, Students are the future of the nation and it is important that these young talents get exposed to our country’s rich and diverse heritage to create a grand Indian narrative in their minds and thoughts, so that they take pride in being Indian with a responsibility to take forward a vibrant and modern nation. From the very beginning of our civilization India has believed in the virtue of ‘Vasudhaiva Kutumbakam’ and it has always set an example of progress and development for all. Let us recommit ourselves to the objective of ” Nation First, Always First”. Her message recharged the audience with pride for being the citizens of a glorious nation with a rich past. She infused the gathering with patriotic passion and zeal.
Speaking on the occasion Principal, Deepali Bhuskute expressed pride in the rich cultural past of the country. She urged students to work with honesty and dedication so that our nation soars to new heights.
