RNS: DPS Chas and Chrysalis held a workshop (Formative Years Programme) for parents of Pre-Nursery to Class I students to explain the Think Room curriculum and the “blended learning approach” in the modern era.
Ankit Agarwal, Regional Manager Growth Partnership Team Chrysalis advocated that education is not about books or syllabi but also about learning practical applications and Experiential Learning.
The resource person in conversation with the parents said, “Education should be fun for children and it should streamline the natural desires of the students.” He also answered the queries and doubts of the parents.
Dr Hemlata S. Mohan, Chief Mentor of DPS Chas, said, “The age-old method of teaching and learning is not fruitful in the modern era. The children of today are more prone to technology.
“The way they think has transformed. Rote learning can be detrimental to the development of the child. The teachers must teach creative and critical thinking,” she added.
She conveyed that every student has a potential energy source which is unique to them. One needs to give space for the child to bloom. The innate qualities should be given priority for all-around development.
Officiating Principal of DPS Chas, Deepali Bhuskute, thanked the parents for attending the workshop. She said that the workshop was a success in helping parents to involve more in their child’s education.
