Workforce Peripheralism – Boon or Bane ?

Ranchi: A webinar on “Workforce Peripheralism – Boon or Bane?” was organized by the Department of Commerce and Management at Sarala Birla University on Sunday.

Dr. Indranil Bose, Dean, School of Business, University of Bolton, Academic Center, Ras Al Khaimah, UAE delivered his lecture. In his speech, Bose specifically highlighted the theoretical details of workforce peripheralism along with a wide range of organizational outcomes and its importance.

Highlighting the emerging practices and dimensions of peripheral workforce engagements across the globe and the challenges involved in it Bose also emphasized the different regulatory challenges and practical compulsions related to this growing practice across the globe.

He gave his lecture on Permanent employment, in part the concept of conceptualization including workforce, time and work, multi-party employment relations and disguised employment, dependent self-employment and others.

The session was quite informative and detailed with critical information on the subject. Workforce peripheralism is seen as a phenomenon. The webinar focused on the development of peripheral workers that have recently integrated employment developments, regulation of different types of Peripheral Employment, Employment Standards, Employment Relations’, Global scenario and their concepts.

During the speech Bose also shared his perspective on topics like impact on employment opportunities.

The program was conducted by Dimple Singhania, an MBA student, while the speaker was introduced by Unisha Sharma, an MBA student. The question and answer session was conducted by Prachi Priya Mahato an MBA student.

Dr. Sandeep Kumar, Associate Professor of Department of Management concluded the session.

Besides others, the Vice-Chancellor of the University, Professor Dr. Gopal Pathak, the Registrar, Professor Dr. Vijay Kumar Singh, Associate Dean of Commerce and Management Professor Sanjeev Bajaj and all the faculties students of Commerce and Management were present in the webinar.
