RNS: Chandrapura Thermal Power Station (CTPS), a unit of Damodar Valley Corporation (DVC), hosted a program on Friday aimed at raising awareness about tuberculosis eradication.
The event, organized by the Corporate Social Responsibility Department (CSR) of CTPS in collaboration with Shaheed Tilkamanjhi Memorial Hospital and the District Tuberculosis Department, was held under the National Tuberculosis Eradication Program.
The main objective of the program was to increase sensitivity and awareness about tuberculosis and provide screening services through a dedicated camp.
Addressing the gathering, Sunil Kumar Pandey, the Senior General Manager and Project Head of CTPS stressed the importance of eliminating tuberculosis and encouraged individuals not to be afraid or hesitant but to support the cause actively. He assured the attendees that DVC is fully committed to the fight against tuberculosis and will spare no effort to educate people and eradicate the disease. Early detection and treatment were highlighted as essential strategies in effectively combating tuberculosis.
Pandey also emphasized the need to reach out to rural communities to prevent the spreading of diseases like tuberculosis and improve overall public health.
The event was graced by the presence of distinguished medical experts and dignitaries, including Dr KP Singh, Dr Paramveer Kumar, Dr Laxman Soren, Dr A. Tigga, Dr AK Srivastava, Dr Hemant Kumar Jha, Dr AK Jha, and Anupama.
The program was presided over by Basant Kumar Mohapatra, and each participant received a bouquet as a token of appreciation. The event commenced with the lighting of the lamp by the senior general manager, project head, and other esteemed guests.
