RNS : An exciting Inter House Orchestra Competition with a ‘Bollywood’ theme turned the auditorium at Delhi Public School, Bokaro, into a symphonic extravaganza with beautiful music and compelling performances. Today’s event gathered members of all six houses who performed musical numbers inspired by the golden period of Hindi cinema. The young musicians, decked up in outfits inspired by the ’70s, captivated the audience with an unforgettable symphonic performance. The young musicians expertly revived the timeless melodies, taking the audience back in time.
The event commenced with a warm welcome of Chief Guest Vinod Kumar Yadav, Deputy Commandant, CRPF, 26 Battalion; Manorama Yadav added grace to the ceremony.
Raavi House set the stage on fire as they struck a deep emotional chord with the soul-stirring ‘Chaand Mera Dil…, Ganga House mesmerized the crowd with the iconic melodies from the movie ‘Don’, Chenab House rocked with the unforgettable theme music of the movie ‘Sholay’, Jamuna House added magic with their rendition of the tune ‘Ek haseena thi… ‘ while Jhelum House’s captivating performance of ‘Andheri Raton Mein….’ left the audience astound. Sutlej House serenaded everyone with the evergreen tune of ‘Pyar karne wale pyar karte hain…’.
The performances perfectly blend musical expertise and passion, leaving the audience thoroughly captivated and reminiscing about the golden era of Bollywood music.
Raavi House bagged the First position, followed by Chenab and Jhelum Houses in the Second position, while Ganga, Jamuna and Sutlej Houses shared the Third position.
The Chief Guest, Yadav commended the school for organising such an event that celebrates the students’ creativity and artistic skills, providing them a necessary break from academic activities. He added that such initiatives are important for preserving our cultural roots. He said every child has unique talent and DPS Bokaro provides a supportive environment wherein students can thrive.
Principal Dr A. S. Gangwar applauded each House for their remarkable commitment. He said, “Such events foster a sense of healthy competition and unity among the students. Participation in such events develops a sense of time management and helps students to develop life and social skills. It also provides an opportunity to learn and grow together.” He lauded the efforts put in by the wardens and tutors who have nurtured the prodigies.
Anjali, Nimesh Rathore and J. P. Sinha, teachers from Primary Wing, were the judges, while Gaurav, Ananya and Sonam anchored the programme. Liza Singh, Cultural Secretary, proposed the Vote of Thanks.
