RNS: Aiming to enhance research and experiential learning opportunities, the Indian School of Mines, Dhanbad (IIT-ISM) has formalized a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Tata Steel, one of India’s premier industrial conglomerates.
The MoU paves the way for master’s students to embark on a transformative Research Internship journey with Tata Steel.
Diving deep into the specifics of the partnership, the MoU empowers final-year M.Tech, MBA, and M.Sc students from IIT (ISM) Dhanbad to participate in a Research Internship program at Tata Steel Ltd for a duration spanning 6 to 12 months.
As a testament to the industry-academia synergy being cultivated, Tata Steel Ltd will initiate the proposal for the internship program in accordance with the terms of the MoU, while enthusiastic students from IIT (ISM) will submit their applications.
The selection process will involve comprehensive interviews, conducted to gauge the aptitude and potential of the candidates. From the pool of applicants, the most promising individuals will be selected for the coveted Research Internship opportunity.
These selected candidates will receive a fellowship amounting to a remarkable Rs 62,000 per month for the duration of their internship, spanning 6 to 12 months.
The ceremonial signing of the MoU took place with esteemed representatives from both institutions. Professor JK Pattanayak, Director of IIT (ISM), and Professor Dheeraj Kumar, Deputy Director, were the signatories from the IIT (ISM) camp.
Meanwhile, Dr. Debashish Bhattacharjee, Vice President of Technology & R&D, and Atrayee Sanyal, Vice President of Human Resource Management, represented Tata Steel Ltd in sealing this landmark collaboration.
