Bokaro: Akhil Bhartiya Sangeet Samaroh captivated the audience at Sector 4D Shiv Hanuman Mandir in Bokaro Steel City on Wednesday evening. The event, featuring a mesmerizing blend of classical and light music by senior musician Pt. Bachchanji Maharaj and Sangeetacharya Pt. Krishna Dulari Devi, left the audience spellbound.
The program commenced with a mesmerizing Dhrupad performance by Pt. Krishna Mohan Pathak of the Gaya Gharana, who enthralled the audience with his rendition of Raga Darbari Kangra, accompanied by Pt. Bachchanji Maharaj on the Pakhawaj. Following this, Kumar Ravi, a student of Indira Sangeet Vishwavidyalaya in Khairagarh, Madhya Pradesh, delivered a stunning performance of Thumri in Raga Charukeshi, Raga Megh, and Dadra, earning widespread applause for his soulful rendition of the Bhajan “Chalo Man Vrindavan Ki Or.”
Singer Chandra Kant Sharma captivated listeners with his Vilambit Khayal and Tarana in Raga Hansdhwani, while Anupama Pathak’s Khayal and Tarana in Raga Bageshwari left the audience spellbound. Anandita Pathak’s heartfelt performance of “Jiken Hriday Harinath Base…” and Ranjana Rai’s “Ram Lakhan San Pahun Jinkar Sita Sanak Jakar Beti…” were equally enchanting. Umesh Kumar Jha’s devotional piece “Puja Ke Hetu Shankar Aayal Chi Hum Pujari…” further added to the evening’s musical splendor.
Shambhavi Ojha delivered a beautiful Kathak dance performance, and Aditya’s solo guitar recital of Raga Bhoopali was a highlight of the event. Jiya Dey and Kumar Gopal Chaubey impressed the audience with their solo tabla recitals.
The festival was presided over by Dr. Ram Narayan Singh, with stage management conducted by Pt. Bachchanji Maharaj. Notable attendees included Usha Rani Pathak, K K N Tiwari, Prabha Mohanan, Prasenjit Sharma, Arun Kumar, Pramod Kumar, Ram Dulari Singh, Bindeshwari Pandey, Chitra Adhikari, Pooja Singha, Kanchan Tiwari, Rita Srivastava, Suman, and Bipul Choubey.
