Cultural extravaganza ‘Tarang’ concludes on a thumping note at DPS Bokaro

Bokaro: The four-day cultural festival ‘Tarang’ wrapped up on a high note at DPS Bokaro on Friday, featuring an Inter-House Group Song Competition themed around ‘Sawan.’ The event showcased a vibrant display of melodious and harmonious music, with young performers capturing the essence of nature’s beauty. The competition highlighted the rich cultural heritage and the significance of the monsoon season, known for its crucial role in crop sowing.

The event held at the school campus showcased a exciting display of rhythm, melody and an amalgamation of emotions, beautiful expressions and cohesive storytelling which captivated the souls of the cheering audience. The competition began with Jamuna House on  the rendition  ‘Barse la Megha…’, Raavi House mesmerized with ‘Ghanan-Ghanan Megha Barse…’, Chenab House presented a powerful performance on ‘Jhoole to pad gaye…’, Jhelum House sang ‘Odhni Sitaron Ki…’, Ganga House thrilled the audience with ‘Bagon me Bahar…’ while Sutlej House enthralled with ‘Kaise Khelan Jaibu Kajariya…’

Based on the mellifluous presentations of the vocalists, Jhelum and Sutlej House jointly clinched the first position. Jamuna and Raavi bagged the second position whereas Chenab and Ganga shared the third position. Jay Prakash Sinha, Sweety Anil Kumar and Shubhojit Mishra were the judges of the competition.

Principal, Dr. A. S. Gangwar congratulated all the participants for their euphonious performances.  “Music is the best treatment for many ailments and keeps us physically and mentally sound”, he said. He emphasized that every child should be given an opportunity to explore his or her innate talents. He also highlighted the role of music in enriching human life and its connection to Indian Culture.

On the occasion, the welcome address was delivered by Edha Singh, Vice Head Girl while the vote of thanks was proposed by Ayush Kumar Jaiswal, Cultural Secretary, DPS Bokaro. The comperes of the show were Meenakshi Tanu, Aashna Agarwal, Shreyasi Gupta and Ujjwal Pandey.
