Ranchi: The Jharkhand Pradesh Sanyukt Shikshak Morcha has threatened to launch an agitation if the state government fails to address critical demands, including the Modified Assured Career Progression (MACP). During a virtual meeting chaired by Vijay Bahadur Singh, representatives outlined several key issues requiring immediate attention.
The key demands of Morcha include: MACP Benefits: Implementation for all teachers at par with state employees before the election code of conduct; Health Insurance: Coverage for all state employees, including teachers; Revised Pay Scales: Upgraded pay according to the Sixth Pay Commission recommendations; Retirement Age: Increase from 60 to 62 years to address teacher shortages; Biometric Attendance Order: Compliance with the High Court ruling on biometric attendance using personal mobiles; Promotions: Immediate promotions across all grades and districts and Inter-District Transfers: One opportunity for teachers with five years of uninterrupted service.
The Morcha emphasised the urgency of these issues and plans to engage with the Chief Minister and relevant ministers. If unmet, they will resort to agitation to advocate for teachers’ rights. Key attendees included Amin Ahmed, Ashutosh Kumar, and representatives from multiple districts.
