PM Modi Begins Three-Day Visit to the United States

New Delhi: Prime Minister Narendra Modi has commenced a three-day visit to the United States, aimed at enhancing diplomatic relations and addressing key global issues through a series of high-level meetings.

PM’s visit kicks off with his attendance at the 4th annual Quad Leaders’ Summit in Wilmington, Delaware, where he will engage with fellow leaders, including U.S. President Joe Biden, Australian Prime Minister Anthony Albanese, and Japanese Prime Minister Fumio Kishida. The summit is set to cover critical topics such as climate change and emerging technologies.

In a statement prior to his departure, Modi expressed enthusiasm for the upcoming summit, highlighting the Quad as a vital coalition of like-minded nations committed to fostering peace, progress, and prosperity in the Indo-Pacific region. He also noted the importance of his bilateral meeting with President Biden, which aims to deepen the India-U.S. Comprehensive Global Strategic Partnership for mutual benefit.

Following the Quad Summit, Modi will travel to New York, where he plans to engage with the Indian community on September 22. He is also scheduled to meet with executives from leading U.S. companies to explore collaborative opportunities in emerging technologies, including artificial intelligence, quantum computing, and semiconductors.

PM emphasised the significance of connecting with the Indian diaspora and American business leaders, recognizing them as key stakeholders in the partnership between the world’s largest and oldest democracies.

On the final day of his visit, Modi will address the “Summit of the Future” at the United Nations General Assembly in New York. The summit, themed “Multilateral Solutions for a Better Tomorrow,” aims to promote global cooperation on pressing international challenges.

Reflecting on his participation, Modi stated that this summit presents an opportunity for the global community to strategize for a better future. He underscored the importance of representing the views of one-sixth of humanity, emphasizing their stakes in achieving a peaceful and secure world.
