Bokaro: Delhi Public School (DPS) Chas hosted the vibrant ‘Aakar’ Art Fest, aimed at nurturing the artistic talents of its students. Over 100 participants showcased their creativity through a colorful array of artworks that captivated attendees.
The event featured young artists from Pre-Nursery to Class 1, who explored color identification and usage. Students from Classes 2 to 5 created imaginative landscapes and natural scenes, while those from Classes 6 to 8 highlighted themes of environmental conservation and cultural festivals through intricate Rangoli designs and Supa (winnowing basket) paintings, advocating for Earth preservation.
Senior students from Classes 9 to 12 elevated the themes further, presenting posters on ‘Viksit Bharat’ (Developed India) and crafting stunning face paintings inspired by nature and wildlife.
Dr. Hemlata S. Mohan, Chief Mentor of the school, praised the fest as a lively platform for emotional expression and creativity, emphasizing its role in uncovering hidden talents and boosting students’ confidence and holistic development.
During the inauguration, Officiating Principal Ms. Deepali Bhuskute underscored the importance of spontaneous responses in sharpening a child’s intellect, stating that insightful students build confidence and harmony within themselves and their communities.
The artworks were evaluated by a panel of expert judges, including Amit Banerjee from GGPS Sector-5, Nagendra Ji from MGM Senior Secondary School, and local artist Santosh Kumar. The judges engaged with students, prompting discussions about their techniques, which showcased the students’ poise and depth of understanding.
