Gaya: As the International Pitru Paksha Mela enters its eighth day, Gaya has welcomed approximately eight lakh devotees seeking to perform Pind Daan for the salvation of their ancestors. The festival, marked by a peaceful atmosphere, has seen a steady influx of pilgrims, with many praising the efforts of Gaya Police for their exemplary humanitarian approach.

Senior Superintendent of Police Ashish Bharti has been proactive, visiting various locations daily to ensure the safety and well-being of the devotees. The Gaya Police have gone beyond their security duties by assisting elderly participants in navigating the fair. Officers are helping them cross roads, climb stairs, and providing wheelchairs for those in needs.

This compassionate response has garnered admiration not only from Pind Daanis but also from the general public, showcasing a more humane side of law enforcement. The police’s commitment to service during the festival highlights their role as both protectors and helpers.

SSP Ashish Bharti has meticulously organized security for the event, dividing the fair area into 17 super zones, 43 zones, and 339 sectors, ensuring police presence at every corner. With 70 police camps set up throughout the area and two platoons of horse riders on patrol, the force is particularly vigilant against pickpockets.

In addition to overseeing security arrangements, SSP Bharti actively seeks feedback from attendees about police conduct and safety measures. A QR code has been issued, allowing citizens to easily provide suggestions or report complaints, facilitating continuous improvement in security protocols.

SSP Bharti reaffirmed the commitment of Gaya Police to ensure the peaceful conduct of the Pitru Paksha fair, emphasizing the importance of cooperation between the police and the public. “All officers and personnel have been instructed to work with a spirit of security and service,” he stated, calling for community collaboration to enhance safety during the event.
