New Delhi: The National Investigation Agency (NIA) has launched a series of coordinated raids across five states and Union Territories as part of an ongoing investigation into terror financing linked to Jaish-e-Mohammad (JeM). The operation, which took place yesterday, covered 26 locations, including Jammu and Kashmir, Maharashtra, Uttar Pradesh, Assam, and Delhi.
Raids were conducted in various areas, including Meerut and Saharanpur in Uttar Pradesh; Goalpara in Assam; Aurangabad, Jalna, and Malegaon in Maharashtra; as well as Baramulla, Pulwama, and Ramban in Jammu and Kashmir, and multiple sites in Delhi.
During these searches, NIA teams seized a range of incriminating materials, including documents, electronic devices, pamphlets, and magazines. The evidence is currently under examination to uncover further leads against the individuals whose premises were targeted.
Investigations have revealed that the suspects were involved in radicalizing individuals and disseminating terrorist propaganda. They were also reportedly engaged in recruiting youth into the Jamaat outfit, which is inspired by JeM, and encouraging them to commit terror attacks across India. The NIA continues to pursue leads to dismantle these networks and enhance national security.
