King Charles, Queen Camilla on Secret Trip to Bengaluru for treatment

Bengaluru: King Charles of Britain is making a discreet visit to Bengaluru for wellness treatment, marking his first trip to India since his coronation last year. He is accompanied by Queen Consort Camilla during this private journey, according to media reports.

The couple arrived in Bengaluru on October 27 and is currently staying at the Soukya International Holistic Health Centre (SIHHC) in Whitefield. They are expected to remain there until Wednesday night.

Sources indicate that King Charles traveled directly to Bengaluru from Samoa, where he participated in the 2024 Commonwealth Heads of Government Meeting from October 21-26. Given the private nature of this visit, details have been kept under wraps.

Upon arrival, Charles was taken straight to SIHHC, where Queen Camilla later joined him. Their daily routine reportedly includes morning yoga sessions, rejuvenation treatments, and leisurely walks around the campus, which features an organic farm and a cattle shed.

Due to the high-profile nature of their visit, significant security measures have been implemented around the health center. Founded by Dr. Issac Mathai, SIHHC combines various traditional and modern medical practices, including Ayurveda, yoga, and naturopathy, along with over 30 complementary therapies.

This trip is significant as it marks Charles’s first visit to India as monarch; however, he has visited the center nine times previously, celebrating Deepavali on three occasions and undergoing various wellness treatments.

King Charles ascended to the throne following the passing of his mother, Queen Elizabeth II, on September 8, 2022. The couple had previously celebrated Charles’s 71st birthday at the health center on November 14, 2019.
