Ranchi: Novelist Mayank Kashyap’s much-anticipated book, Odyssey of Days, was officially launched today in a grand ceremony held at the BNR Chanakya Auditorium in Ranchi. The event saw the esteemed presence of the Chief Guest, Deputy Chairman of Rajya Sabha, Harivansh Ji, along with Padmashree Shri Ashok Bhagat, and CCL CMD Nilendu Kumar Singh.
President of Arpita Mahila Mandal Preeti Singh and the author’s family members were also present on the eve.
The novel Odyssey of Days delves into the emotional journey of two orphaned siblings, Rishi and Nitika, as they navigate the trials of life, addiction, and their sibling bond. The book explores themes of resilience, the destructive effects of addiction, and the strength of human spirit.
The launch event began with a welcome address by Alok Gupta, Head of CC & PR Department at CCL, followed by an introduction of the author. Dr. Mrigakshi Alok presented a critical analysis of the novel, emphasizing its plot and literary craftsmanship.
CCL CMD Nilendu Kumar Singh praised Kashyap’s literary contribution, stating, “Such works leave a lasting impact on society and inspire positive change.”
Padmashree Ashok Bhagat lauded the author for his insightful portrayal of the brother-sister relationship, noting, “Literature not only promotes social awareness but also sparks critical thinking. This book reflects the struggles of our times and highlights the power of storytelling.”
In his keynote address, Harivansh Ji emphasized the importance of literature as a societal mirror, stating, “Novels like Odyssey of Days inspire us to introspect and work towards societal betterment.” He also addressed the pressing issue of drug addiction and stressed the role of family and society in the de-addiction process.
The event concluded with a vote of thanks by Dr. R.K. Roy.
Mayank Kashyap, who works as a Deputy Manager in the CC & PR Department of CCL, is also the author of two previous books: Fragments of My Imagination, a best-selling poetry collection, and The Heart That Was Yours, a fictional novel.
Odyssey of Days is now available at leading bookstores and online platforms, offering readers a profound and sensitive exploration of societal issues that inspire reflection and change.
