Jaideep Sarkar Appointed Sports Advisor at SAIL’s Bokaro Steel Plant

Ranchi: Jaideep Sarkar, the chief coach of the Indian men’s volleyball team that delivered an outstanding performance at the 2023 Asian Games, has been appointed as the Sports Advisor (Sports and Training) at Bokaro Steel Plant (BSL), a unit of Steel Authority of India Limited (SAIL), a Maharatna company under the Government of India.

Sarkar, who has been a prominent figure in the global sports community, was nominated by the International Olympic Committee Community (CIPC) for his contributions to the empowerment of the Olympic movement. He is also a recipient of an honorary doctorate from the United Nations Commission on Sports Culture and the prestigious Dr. B.R. Ambedkar National Award for Sports and Society.

On the announcement of his new role, sports organizations across India, including those in Jharkhand, extended their congratulations and best wishes to Sarkar, recognizing his significant contributions to Indian sports.

Jaideep brings over 30 years of professional experience in Sports Development, Sports Science, Advocacy, and Coaching. He has actively contributed as a Sports Resource Person at numerous prestigious global sports promotional platforms.

Additionally, he has been involved in projects with Leipzig University in Germany through its ITK wing and participated in the International Day of Sports for Development & Peace (IDSDP). Driven by a passion for advancing sports as a global tool for human development, Jaideep emphasizes the core values of “Olympism” and the “Olympic Movement.”
