National Conference on Atomic and Molecular Physics Concludes at IIT ISM

Dhanbad: The 24th edition of the National Conference on Atomic and Molecular Physics (NCAMP 2025) wrapped up today at the Penman Auditorium of IIT ISM. Organized by the Indian Society of Atomic and Molecular Physics (ISAMP) in partnership with the Department of Physics at IIT ISM, the four-day event, held from January 8 to 11, 2025, brought together more than 200 delegates from over 100 institutes across India and abroad. The conference served as a dynamic platform for fostering collaboration, sharing innovative research, and discussing the latest developments in atomic, molecular, and optical physics.

During the valedictory session, Professor Dheeraj Kumar, Deputy Director of IIT ISM, addressed the gathering as the Chief Guest. He highlighted the growing importance of atomic and molecular physics, particularly in the context of advancing quantum research, and encouraged attendees to explore innovative avenues in the field.

Professor Jyoti Rajput from Delhi University, the Guest of Honour, commended the extensive efforts of ISAMP in promoting the growth of atomic and molecular physics in India.

Conference convener Professor Bobby Antony, Head of the Department of Physics at IIT ISM, provided an overview of the conference proceedings, which included a series of plenary talks, invited lectures, and paper presentations. The event facilitated knowledge exchange between experienced researchers and emerging scholars, further advancing the field.

The conference concluded with a vote of thanks from Professor PM Sarun of IIT ISM, marking the successful conclusion of the biennial event that continues to bring together experts and enthusiasts from the atomic, molecular, and optical physics community.
