Jamshedpur: XLRI Jamshedpur successfully launched Day 1 of its annual MAXI Fair on January 18th, drawing a large crowd of locals who gathered at the XLRI Football Ground to enjoy a day filled with entertainment and competition.
The first event, Masterchef Jamshedpur, saw contestants compete in a fast-paced 45-minute cooking challenge, incorporating three key ingredients—cheese, tomato, and maida. The excitement continued with Sa Re Ga Ma Pa, a spectacular showcase of vocal talent from children of various age groups. The Fancy Dress competition captivated the audience with adorable children in creative costumes, some paired with singing, dancing, and recitations.
The Ms. Jamshedpur contest, a highlight of the day, drew large crowds as young women demonstrated poise, talent, and confidence, winning the judges and spectators’ hearts.
In addition to the competitions, the fairgrounds featured food stalls from local restaurants and a ‘Mela Zone’ offering carnival games and prizes, keeping visitors entertained throughout the day. The evening culminated with an energetic concert by popular Bollywood playback singer, Nikhil D’Souza, who delivered a memorable performance, leaving the crowd exhilarated.
Day 2 of MAXI Fair will continue on January 19th with more exciting events, including dance and art competitions, and the Jamshedpur’s Favourite Family contest. The fair will conclude with a highly anticipated concert by renowned singer Sonu Nigam later in the evening.
