Roinet, IIT-Delhi Forge Partnership to Develop AI Solutions for Financial Inclusion

New Delhi: Roinet Solution Pvt. Ltd has entered into a three-year Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the Foundation for Innovation and Technology Transfer at IIT Delhi to develop AI-powered solutions aimed at promoting financial inclusion. The partnership will focus on creating advanced technologies to improve access to financial services for underserved communities and small businesses.

The collaboration will leverage IIT Delhi’s expertise in artificial intelligence (AI) and machine learning (ML) to design and implement a range of solutions. These include an advanced underwriting engine for lending, an intelligent travel and ticketing platform, an AI-driven grievance redressal chatbot, and an enhanced audio/video calling platform. These innovations are expected to overcome significant barriers to financial accessibility and provide seamless, efficient services to end-users.

Sameer Mathur, Founder and Managing Director of Roinet, expressed the company’s commitment to bridging financial and digital divides through technology. He stated, “Partnering with IIT Delhi allows us to co-create AI-driven solutions that cater to the unique needs of underserved communities, enhancing their access to financial services. Our combined industry experience and IIT Delhi’s research expertise will help us create tangible impact.”

Nikhil Aggarwal, Managing Director of the Foundation for Innovation and Technology Transfer at IIT Delhi, highlighted the potential of the collaboration, saying, “This partnership allows us to apply cutting-edge AI and ML research to address real-world challenges in financial inclusion. Our researchers and students will contribute to transformative solutions that can reshape the financial services landscape, strengthening the industry-academia ecosystem and fostering meaningful innovation.”

As part of the agreement, Roinet will provide support through product conceptualization, infrastructure, financial incentives, and go-to-market strategies to ensure successful implementation of these innovations. Students involved in the project will also receive stipends, mentorship, and possible long-term career opportunities, further enhancing the collaboration between academia and industry. All developments from this initiative will be jointly owned by Roinet and IIT Delhi, reflecting their shared dedication to advancing deep-tech innovations in financial services.

This partnership underscores the importance of AI and deep-tech in driving financial inclusion and fostering innovation ecosystems that bridge the gap between academia and industry, ensuring real-world applications that have a meaningful societal impact.
