Jamshedpur: XLRI (Xavier School of Management) Jamshedpur, inaugurated its new academic session for the PGDM (General Management) 2025–26 batch and the 4th batch of PGDM (HRM) for Emerging CHROs with a vibrant ceremony held at the Tata Auditorium.
The inauguration began with a solemn Prayer Service and the ceremonial Lighting of the Lamp, symbolizing a fresh start for the incoming students. A total of 150 students were welcomed — 120 for the PGDM (GM) program (48 female, 72 male), and 30 for the CHRO-focused HRM program (12 female, 18 male). Both are 18-month, intensive leadership programs designed to shape responsible, high-impact business leaders.
Director Dr. (Fr.) S. George, S.J. delivered an inspiring keynote, urging students to embrace courage, empathy, and interdependence in their leadership journeys. He emphasized, “Courage is not the absence of fear, but the ability to move forward despite it. And in the 21st century, we must be rooted in both self-sufficiency and a collective spirit.”
Dean of Academics Dr. Sanjay Patro reinforced the school’s founding ethos of MAGIS — the pursuit of excellence for the greater good — and encouraged students to remain grounded, curious, and purpose-driven. Dean of Administration & Finance, Dr. (Fr.) Donald D’Silva, S.J., led an interfaith prayer that called for unity, justice, and ethical leadership.
The ceremony reflected XLRI’s commitment to inclusivity, with scriptural readings from the Bhagavad Gita, Bible, Guru Granth Sahib, and Quran. Students also took an Honour Pledge to uphold integrity, respect diversity, and lead with purpose.
Senior faculty members, including Prof. Purna Chandra Padhan, Prof. Manoj Thomas, and Prof. R. K. Premarajan, joined the event, underscoring the institution’s strong academic leadership.
The program concluded with a reflective video, the National Anthem, and a High Tea reception — marking the beginning of a transformative journey for these future leaders at India’s oldest B-school, now in its 76th year.
