Gaya: Preparations are in full swing in Gaya district for the Khelo India Youth Games 2025, scheduled to be held from May 3 to May 15 at BIPARD, IIM Bodhgaya, and other venues across Bihar. District authorities are working to ensure top-notch facilities for all participants, including athletes, technical officials, and support staff.
On Thursday, District Magistrate Dr. Tyagarajan S.M. convened a high-level meeting with officials assigned to the control rooms at the Collectorate Assembly Hall. It was decided that three dedicated control rooms will be set up at the Collectorate, BIPARD, and IIM Bodhgaya, operating round-the-clock in three 8-hour shifts. Senior officers will be stationed at each location to supervise operations and ensure seamless coordination.
To provide immediate solutions to any logistical or service-related issues, representatives from departments such as drinking water, health, electricity, fire safety, sanitation, and transport will be stationed at the control rooms. A structured follow-up mechanism has also been put in place to track and resolve concerns in real time.
For player accommodation, 13 to 15 hostels have been designated at IIM Bodhgaya and BIPARD. Each hostel will have a dedicated nodal officer to oversee facilities and ensure smooth functioning. The DM emphasized the importance of maintaining high standards, instructing teams to ensure availability of AC mechanics, plumbers, electricians, housekeeping staff, and daily services like changing bedsheets, pillow covers, and cleaning towels and toilets.
In a visit to BIPARD, Dr. Tyagarajan reviewed the preparations firsthand and held a detailed discussion with the institutional authorities. He also directed that Ganga Jal drinking water be supplied three times daily during the event period to maintain hydration and hygiene.
“This is a national-level sporting event, and all arrangements must reflect the highest standards of quality,” the District Magistrate stated, urging officials to work with dedication and precision to uphold Bihar’s reputation on the national stage.
